Clea

Preserve. Protect. Be beautiful.

This Dwell-featured home is set in the historic Mission Hills district of San Diego, and stands as one of our signature designs. Sustainable engineering meets modern style in this 3,820 square foot, LEED-Gold-certified home. Solar panels on the roof alleviate a large portion of the electricity bill, drought-tolerant landscaping reduces the need to constantly water, and floor to ceiling windows let in an abundance of natural light. A seamless cantilevering design preserves site terrain while allowing for a large rooftop deck—a great place for friends and family to enjoy the peaceful ocean breeze and canyon setting. The Clea Home brings the outdoors in, serving as the ultimate expression of the indoor/outdoor San Diego lifestyle.

ACCOLADES

EXTERIOR

Profound confidence and natural integration define the Clea Home. Several exterior living spaces immerse families into the surrounding landscape. A retractable glass wall provides continuity from the indoors to the outdoors, a seamless and non-invasive process meant to extinguish borders. White walls contrast with the black, flat roof. The subtle cantilever gives the home an open, linear plan resulting in a large exterior living space behind the house, complete with an above-ground fire pit. Every element of the home works in harmony with the other, creating the stunning and environmentally conscious, Clea Home.

INTERIOR

The Clea Home’s interior projects a strong, sustainable aesthetic throughout. The use of environmentally preferable materials combined with a simplistic design creates a very clean look. The single-floor, open layout inspires family cohesion while also maintaining privacy. Large windows let in an excess of natural light while opening up beautiful canyon views. White hardwood floors blend spectacularly with the darker wooden tones in the kitchen and surrounding the fireplace. Minimalist lighting fixtures foster serenity and relaxation. We know having a getaway is so important, and the Clea Home proves to be one in a remarkably efficient fashion.
